Terms of Service
Last updated: 7 April 2026. These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your use of YASS! (“YASS!”, “we”, “us”). We have written them in plain English. They are not legal advice — if you need advice about your own situation, speak to a qualified professional.
In short
- Adults only. You must be 18 or older to use YASS!.
- You agree to these Terms and our Privacy Policy when you use the service. The Privacy Policy explains how we handle personal information.
- Be respectful and lawful. Do not use YASS! to break the law, harm others, or misuse the platform.
- You are responsible for your choices offline. We help you connect around activities; we do not supervise in-person meetings.
- We may change or suspend the service or your access where the law or these Terms allow — for example for inactivity, risk, or breach.
1. Agreement
By accessing or using YASS! (including browsing our website or creating an account), you agree to these Terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the service. We may update these Terms from time to time; see “Changes to these Terms” below.
2. The service
YASS! is an online service operated from the United Kingdom that helps adults discover shared activities, connect with others, and use features such as profiles, messaging, chats, and organising or joining meets. Features may change as we improve the product.
3. Eligibility
The service is for people aged 18 and over only. By using YASS!, you confirm that you meet this requirement. If we learn that someone under 18 has created an account, we may close the account and delete associated information where appropriate.
4. Your account
You may need an account to use certain features. You agree to provide accurate information where we ask for it and to keep your contact details up to date. You sign in using the authentication methods we offer (for example email and a one-time sign-in code). You are responsible for activity that happens through your account unless you notify us of unauthorised use and we can reasonably verify it.
Do not share your account in a way that lets others pretend to be you. Do not create accounts to evade enforcement or mislead other users.
5. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- use YASS! for any unlawful purpose or in breach of these Terms;
- harass, threaten, abuse, defraud, or discriminate against others, or encourage anyone else to do so;
- post or send content that is illegal, infringes someone else’s rights, or that you do not have the right to share;
- spam, scrape, or use automated means to access the service in a way that overloads or disrupts it, except as we expressly allow (for example public search engines following robots rules where applicable);
- attempt to probe, bypass, or break security or access areas or data you are not authorised to use;
- impersonate another person or misrepresent your affiliation with any person or entity.
We may investigate reports and take action where we reasonably believe these rules are broken — including removing content, restricting features, or closing accounts.
6. Content you post
You keep ownership of content you create. To run YASS!, you grant us a worldwide, non-exclusive licence to host, store, display, and share your content on the service as intended by the product (for example showing your profile and messages to people you interact with). You confirm you have the rights needed to grant this licence.
We are not obliged to monitor all content but may review, remove, or restrict content where we reasonably believe it violates these Terms, the law, or others’ rights, or where required by law. You can use in-app reporting where we provide it.
7. Meets and in-person activity
YASS! helps you organise and discover activities. You are solely responsible for your interactions with other users and for any in-person meetings or activities. We do not conduct background checks on users and we do not guarantee anyone’s identity, conduct, or safety. Use good judgment, meet in public when appropriate, and follow applicable laws and venue rules.
8. Privacy, analytics, and communications
Our Privacy Policy describes how we collect and use personal information — including analytics (which may include activity from visitors who are not logged in), cookies and similar technologies, and email sent through providers such as Brevo. By using YASS!, you acknowledge that processing described there may occur.
9. Availability and changes to the service
We aim to run YASS! reliably but we do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free access. We may change, suspend, or discontinue features or the whole service for maintenance, security, legal, or business reasons. Where we can, we will give reasonable notice of material adverse changes that affect how you use the service, but we may not always be able to do so (for example for urgent security or legal reasons).
10. Suspension and ending your use
You may stop using YASS! at any time. You may delete your account; deletion is subject to our technical processes and any information we must retain by law.
We may suspend or terminate your access if we reasonably believe you have breached these Terms, created risk or legal exposure for us or others, or if we are required to do so by law. We may also close or restrict accounts that have been inactive for a long time, including after warning emails where we use that process — see our help materials or in-product notices for current practice.
Provisions that by their nature should survive (for example limitations of liability where allowed, and intellectual property) will continue to apply after your access ends.
11. Disclaimers
The service is provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis. To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, we disclaim warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability that cannot be excluded or limited under applicable law (including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence where the law does not allow it to be limited).
12. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, YASS! and our suppliers will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for loss of profits, data, goodwill, or business opportunities, arising from your use of or inability to use the service, or from content or conduct of other users or third parties. Our total liability for all claims relating to the service in any twelve-month period is limited to the greater of (a) one hundred pounds sterling (£100) and (b) the amounts you paid us for the service in that period (if any — many features may be free). Some jurisdictions do not allow certain limitations; in those cases our liability is limited to the maximum extent permitted by law.
13. Intellectual property
YASS!, our branding, software, and content we create (other than user content) are owned by us or our licensors. Subject to these Terms, we grant you a limited, personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to access and use the service for your own non-commercial use in line with these Terms. You must not copy, modify, reverse engineer, or resell the service except as allowed by law.
14. Third-party services
We use service providers (for example for hosting, authentication and data on Supabase, email delivery, and infrastructure) as described in our Privacy Policy. Their own terms may also apply to how they process data on our behalf.
15. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms by posting a new version on this page and changing the “Last updated” date. If changes are material, we may also notify you by email or in-product notice where appropriate. Continued use after the effective date of changes means you accept the updated Terms. If you do not agree, you should stop using YASS! and delete your account where available.
16. Governing law and disputes
These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales, excluding conflict-of-law rules. The courts of England and Wales have exclusive jurisdiction over disputes arising from or relating to these Terms or the service, subject to any mandatory rights you have as a consumer in your country of residence.
